Social Development Goals 04 and 17

Social Development Goals (SDG)- 4
"Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”
SDG 4 is a commitment to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. This goal aims to provide children and young people with quality and easy access to education, as well as other learning opportunities, and supports the reduction of inequalities.
Target 4.7: - Education for sustainable development and global citizenship.
"By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture's contribution to sustainable development."
Social Development Goals (SDG) - 17
"Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development"
SDG 17 is a vision for improved and more equitable trade, as well as coordinated investment initiatives to promote sustainable development across borders. It is about strengthening and streamlining cooperation between nation-states, both developed and developing, using the SDGs as a shared framework and a shared vision for defining that collaborative way forward. It seeks to promote international trade and an equitable trading system.
The Goal has 19 Targets of which ;
Target 17.11 is formulated as: "Increase the exports of developing countries: Significantly increase the exports of developing countries, in particular with a view to doubling the least developed countries' share of global exports by 2020."

The best global executives don't just know how to enter a market. They know why it matters that someone else can too

About Us
The Collectives 0417 is a curated community and structured learning environment where executives, founders, and managers apply real-world frameworks to expand across borders — with clarity, cultural intelligence, and commercial discipline. We were built for a specific professional moment: the point where a leader realises that local brilliance doesn't automatically translate to global success.
Our training is practitioner-led, bite-sized, and ruthlessly practical — designed for executives who need results between meetings, not credentials between semesters. Our curriculum covers market entry strategy, cross-cultural leadership, negotiation dynamics, risk management, and decision intelligence across institutional contexts. But our pedagogy is only half our purpose.
The Collectives 0417 operates on a One-for-One model anchored in two UN Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 4 — Quality Education — drives our commitment to accessible, practical executive learning for leaders who lack the time or budget for traditional business school pathways. SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals — drives our commitment to ensure that as one leader gains the tools to enter a new market, another leader in a developing economy gains the same.
Instructor(s)
Yuen Lee
Course Creator
Yuen Lee is an international business executive, strategist, and educator with over 30 years of hands-on experience leading market entry, expansion, and go-to-market strategies across Asia-Pacific.
He has held senior leadership roles, including Chief Commercial Officer (Asia Pacific) and Managing Director, working with European private-equity-backed companies and iconic global brands in design, consumer, and industrial sectors. His career spans Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Greater China, where he has successfully built businesses from zero to multi-million-dollar revenues.
Yuen specializes in international expansion strategy, route-to-market (RTM) and go-to-market (GTM) design, channel development, pricing and commercial governance, and cross-cultural leadership. He has led complex transformations across omnichannel strategy, distributor restructuring, digital market entry, and regional P&L management—often in highly fragmented, culturally diverse markets.
Beyond execution, Yuen brings a rare combination of board-level exposure, private equity experience, and on-the-ground operational leadership. He has worked closely with investment firms on ownership transitions, due diligence, organisational restructuring, and post-merger integration across Asia.
Academically, Yuen holds an Executive MBA (Distinction) from the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School), as well as an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has also completed executive education in Private Equity, Directorship, and Business Strategy in Asia.
In addition to his corporate career, Yuen has over a decade of experience in executive training, mentoring, and pedagogy, helping business leaders and professionals navigate the realities of international growth—beyond theory and templates.
His courses on Thinkific distil three decades of real-world lessons, strategic frameworks, and practical tools into a structured program designed for executives, founders, and managers who want to expand across borders with clarity, cultural intelligence, and commercial discipline.

FAQ
-
Who is this course designed for?
This program is specifically built for executives, founders, and managers who have found success in their home markets but need the mental models and strategic frameworks to lead effectively across international borders. It is ideal for executives who need both strategic clarity and practical tools to lead confidently in new markets.
-
How does this fit into a busy executive schedule?
The course uses a "bite-sized" learning approach. With over 120 lessons delivered in high-impact, 3-minute videos, you can make progress during a commute, at the airport, or between meetings.
-
How is this different from a standard MBA or business course?
MBA programs teach theory; The Collectives 0417 teaches execution. Instead of Harvard case studies, you get a practical toolkit on Global Judgment and direct access to the practitioner, not a teaching assistant. It prioritises real-world application, rapid learning, and international scale—without a multi-year commitment.
-
Is this just a theory, or has the course creator actually done this?
Every framework in The Collectives 0417 comes from execution and careful curation work. Many of the concepts were selected because they were applied and relevant to the course creator's career journey. The course creator has held P&L responsibility as Managing and BD Director across Japan, China, Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Greater China — building businesses from zero to multi-million-dollar revenues. He teaches what he built, what he failed at, and what he fixed.
-
What strategic results can executives expect?
Participants will achieve visible and tangible outcomes, including improved negotiation success, reduced expansion risks, and enhanced global leadership capacity. The program emphasises profitability, resilience, and sustainable international growth.
-
Does the program include practical tools I can use immediately?
Absolutely. Beyond the videos, the course includes the Global Mindset Checklist and over 30 additional readings you can apply to your current international projects.
-
What is the meaning behind the name "The Collectives 0417"?
The name reflects our commitment to two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). We believe that global business success should go hand in hand with sustainable development.
-
